About this place

In the Soviet comedy "Mimino", an Armenian truck driver tells a Georgian pilot that in Dilijan the tap water is the second-best in the world — "after San Francisco". The line became a catchphrase, and Dilijan has been dining out on it ever since. In 2011 the town unveiled a bronze group of the film's three friends — Valiko, Rubik and Volokhov — in the centre, near the roundabout, and it instantly became the most photographed spot in town.

It takes five minutes to see and most visitors spend them posing between the characters. Do the same, then taste the water from one of the public fountains nearby and judge the claim for yourself.
