Gosh Lake

Where Parz Lake has a car park and boats, Gosh Lake has silence. The lake lies in the forest above Gosh village and there is no road to it: you walk up a marked forest trail from the village, climbing steadily through tall beech, and arrive at a small, dark, perfectly still pool ringed by trees. Many people have it entirely to themselves.

The walk is the point as much as the lake. Allow a few hours for the round trip from the village, more if the path is muddy after rain, and combine it with Goshavank, which stands at the bottom of the same slope. Keen walkers link it with the Parz–Gosh trail for a full day in the forest.
